Pas froid aux yeux. Vera Molnar
From the autumn of 2021, the Musée des beaux-arts de Rennes is organizing a major monographic exhibition dedicated to Vera Molnar and produced in partnership with the Espace de l'art concret de Mouans-Sartoux, for the artist's 97th birthday.
Ttitled Pas Froid aux Yeux (Not cold in the eyes) the exhibition is launched to everyone as a challenge to time and to life. Pas Froid aux Yeux comprises two successive exhibitions : firstly at the Espace de l'Art Concret and at the Rennes Museum of Fine Arts.
Vera Molnár is an artist of Hungarian origin, born in Budapest on January 5, 1924.
She is considered a precursor of digital art and algorithmic art. Imbued with a pictorial heritage characteristic of Eastern Europe, she moved to Paris in 1947 to develop an experimental and highly committed work. She lives in Paris, where she pursues her artistic career. She is represented in Rennes by the Oniris gallery and in Paris by the Berthet Aittouarès gallery.
